Mother Daughter Memories

In a hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the type of house I lived in, or the kind of clothes I wore, But the world may be much different because I was important in the life of a child.

I can still remember when you brought Jennifer to Texas when she was a baby. She could walk around the furniture and was so active and I think she was only 5-6 months old!!!! Then, when you came to Texas at Christmas that one year, she got the chickenpox!!Finally, she was here on the 4th of July and we watched fireworks together.....HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY JENNY!!! (I wonder if she will pull herself away from the new beau to read any of this?) Where have all the years gone??? I'm glad you had fun looking at your pictures last night sister dear.

AAAHHHH-----How sweet that you have those Mother daughter pictures! How old is she in the 2nd one....4-5 years I am guessing:)

You know Amanda, I don't have the date written down or anything....and that is the only copy of the picture. It's hanging on our wall. It was taken for a fund raiser for YW to raise money for girls camp.....but I'm guessing 2 1/2 to 3 years old.....it was before I was pregnant with Jon . Doesn't Jenny look sweet? and how do you like my HUGE glasses???

Amanda said...

Well---the glasses were the style back then! But I guess we do look back on what we wore and laugh at it! Jenny looked like such a sweet little girl!

I like the couplet at the top of the blog. It is the one I had on my refrigerator for about 25 years. It is so true. It goes along with the visiting teaching message for this month about being an instrument in the hands of the Lord. As women, the most important thing we can do is be an influence for good, especially in the lives of our children. I know you have been a good influence on your children....

Dear Sister,
I am just writing this little letter to request kindly another posting. I know I am being very pushy and you don't like to be pushed but in this case I think I am well within the bounds of sisterly authority for telling you what to do. If you don't post another post I will make a blog posting of the story of the telephone booth in Austin oh so many years ago as a punishment for your lack of cooperation.....:)
