Oh What Do You Do In The Summertime......

It's hard to believe school's been out nearly a month already!! We don't have plans for any trips this summer, BUT...we've had some fun and enjoyed being with family and friends. Tomorrow is the Pioneer Trek our church is having for the youth on Mt. Hood. I have girls camp and Josh is helping at cub day camp later this month,and Josh is going white water rafting on the Deschutes next month....so we'll be busy from here on out!
We spent time at Art and Marilyns on the 4th of July. Josh was able to spend time with cousin Holly and we all had fun playing badmitton.
We went to the Fort for the fireworks. Used to be we had all the cousins,neices,nephews aunts and uncles sprawled out with the thousands of people, but this year it was just us....Aunt Ellouise came with us. The fireworks were AMAZING!!

We have never been too big on video games at our house, but we broke down and got a used Beatles Rock Band for the boys for the summertime. We've all had fun and I love singing the Beatles songs. Richard just watches. Oh....thought I'd get in a pic with our new TV and stand:)Last week was our annual July picnic with my Dad's side of the family. It was a very very small group this year. In fact I was the oldest cousin (except Richard of course) We missed Aunts Adele and Sue and cousin Jane....and all the other missing family members.....but it was a fun day! Names from L-R

The boys had their real live "Rock Band" with cousin Tom who is a singer and makes makes records with his own band....Josh loved it!! They played, what else.....Beatles songs!!
And finally....after months of searching and Richard getting a new job, we bought a car for the boys. It will make life MUCH easier....and maybe, just maybe Josh will get his drivers license so he can drive himself around!
