The call came.....the time was set.......
3:45 our time ......we gathered around the phone and waited for the phone to ring. While Jon gathered with his friends in Rexburg, Jenny and Logan gathered in Gunnison and we gathered in Vancouver with Grandma Cameron, Aunt Debi, Josh, and Nadya, grandma's caregiver. Dear Elder Egan, you are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Missouri St. Louis Mission.Lucky for us we had a map of Missouri, having gone on a church history tour last July. We didn't go to St. Louis, but found it quickly on the map.
The mission takes in Missouri and parts of Illinois. He is to report to the Missionary Training Center in Provo Utah on April 29, just 5 days after his 19th birthday. It will be a busy few weeks before he leaves, coming home from Rexburg on April 11th.Jon is going to be an awesome missionary!!

EXCITING!
I'm glad I was there to share the BIG NEWS!!! Melissa reminded me we have an Elder from our ward that is in the same mission. Tell him to watch out for an Elder Hinckley. (We have known him ever since he was born, I don't know why I didn't remember that!) Jon will be such a great missionary!
Congratulation! It's a wonderful experience having a son on a mission!
